Christene MacDonald Walking Trail

The Christene MacDonald Trail meanders through mature forest of hemlock, spruce, and hardwood beside Matheson's Brook gorge at the Balmoral Grist Mill Museum site. The three-storey grist mill began operating in 1874, and today you can watch demonstrations and sample mill products. The museum has an admission fee. A picnic area is located beyond the parking area.

Access: Balmoral Grist Mill Museum at 660 Matheson Brook Road, off route 256 at Balmoral Mills. From the parking area, follow the pathway to the Grist Mill. The trails start from this pathway; look for the trail signs.
