Notice of Approval - 2025 Colchester Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester has approved the 2025 Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law.
The purpose of the Colchester Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law is to guide growth and development and to control land use in all of Colchester, including previously unzoned areas of the Municipality. Second Reading and approval of these documents was given at a meeting of Council on March 27, 2025.
The effective date of the documents is the date of publication of this notice (June 12, 2025).
Copies of the 2025 Colchester Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law may be inspected at the Community Development Office, Municipality of Colchester building, 1 Church St., Truro, NS, during regular business hours or online www.colchester.ca.

TAKE NOTICE that the council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester, at a hearing held on March 20, 2025, approved amendments to an existing Development Agreement on PID# 20331225, Ainslee Lane (Lot F1-2 - Private Lane) off Pictou Road, Valley. The requested amendments will permit developmetn of eight (8) accessory buildings (storage sheds).
The amendments to the development agreement may be inspected at the Community Development Office, County Court House, 1 Church Street, Truro, N.S. during regular business hours and are also posted on the Municipal website at Planning - Municipality of Colchester.
This decision may be appealed to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within fourteen (14) days of the date of the publication of this notice.

The land use by-law amendment may be inspected at the Community Development Office, County Court House, 1 Church Street, Truro, N.S. during regular business hours and are also posted on the Municipal website at Planning - Municipality of Colchester.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of Colchester will be holding a PUBLIC HEARING on THURSDAY, March 27, 2025, at 6pm. It will be held in the Oak Room, Inn on Prince Truro, 437 Prince Street, Truro, NS
Council will consider the following at this Public Hearing:
Adoption of the Municipality of Colchester Draft Municipal Planning Strategy and Draft Land Use By-law. These documents will bring policy planning and zoning regulations into effect county-wide.
The Draft Municipal Planning Strategy and Draft Land Use By-law are posted on the Municipal website at www.colchester.ca/plan-it-colchester. The documents may be obtained or inspected by interested persons at the Community Development Office, Municipality of Colchester building, 1 Church St., Truro, NS, during regular business hours.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of Colchester will be holding a PUBLIC HEARING on THURSDAY, March 20 at 6pm during the Special Council Meeting. It will be held in Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 1 Church Street, Truro.
Council will consider the following planning application at this Public Hearing:
A request to amend the existing Development Agreement on lands owned by 4584800 Nova Scotia Limited and located at Ainslie Lane (Lot F1-2 Private Lane), Valley, PID # 20031225.
Any representation and/or written objections by interested persons concerning this amendment may be made at this Public Hearing.
