TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of Colchester will be holding PUBLIC HEARINGS on WEDNESDAY, March 27, 2024, at 6pm. These will be held in Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 1 Church Street, Truro.
Council will consider the following planning applications at this meeting:
1) A request to amend the Land Lease Development By-law to permit land lease communities on communal on-site septic systems in unzoned areas of the County;
2) An amendment to the Central Colchester Municipal Planning Strategy regarding minimum lot size requirements for multiple residential buildings on a lot.
Any representation and/or written objections by interested persons concerning these amendments may be made at these Public Hearings.
The staff reports for both are posted on the Municipal website at www.colchester.ca.

Public Hearing Notice - Municipal Heritage Designation

TAKE NOTICE that the Municipal Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester will, at a meeting to be held on March 27, 2024 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at the County Building, 1 Church St., Truro, hold a Public Hearing relative to its’ intention to consider an application to designate the Willow Church Cemetery as a Municipal Heritage Property. The cemetery is located at 1778 Willow Church Road, Waugh’s River.
Details of the proposed registration may be obtained or inspected by interested persons at the Community Development Department, County Building, 1 Church St., Truro, N.S. during regular business hours or www.colchester.ca. Any representation and/or written comments by interested persons concerning the registration may be made at this Public Hearing.

Notice of Intent - Second Reading Dogs By-law

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester will consider Second Reading of amendments to Chapter 35 - Dogs By-law, at their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, beginning at 6 pm. This meeting will be held both virtually via Zoom Webinars and in-person.
The proposed amendments to the Dogs By-law will change the dog tag registration process from annual registration to lifetime registration.

Notice of Approval LUB Amendments - Tatamagouche

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester, at a meeting held on
January 25, 2024, approved an amendment to the Tatamagouche Land Use By-law. The amendment will add
a Commercial Day care as a permitted use in the Institutional zone.
The land use by-law amendment may be inspected at the Community Development Office, County Court
House, 1 Church Street, Truro, N.S. during regular business hours and isalso posted on the
Municipal website at https://www.colchester.ca/planning
This decision may be appealed to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within
fourteen (14) days of the date of publication of this notice.
