Tatamagouche Water Restrictions LIFTED

Attention Customers of the Tatamagouche Water Utility:

Staff have been monitoring the water levels in the French River since the initial advisories and restrictions were put in place and based on improvements in these river levels, the Mandatory Water Conservation Measures have been LIFTED, effective today, October 17, 2025. We always encourage residents to be mindful of water wastage, and we thank you for your cooperation and understanding during these dry drought conditions.

Debert Water System - Fall Flushing 2025

Our Water Utility Crews will be flushing water lines within the Debert Water System starting on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Debert Water Utility customers may experience dirty water or low pressure during this time. The annual flushing program helps keep the water system functioning safely.

Notice of Approval - Deer Feeding By-law

TAKE NOTICE that on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester approved, by way of Second Reading, Chapter 60 - Deer Feeding By-law.

The Deer Feeding By-law is intended to reduce human-wildlife conflicts and protect both deer and the community by discouraging unnatural feeding that can lead to overpopulation, property damage, and safety risks.

The By-law may be obtained from the Administration Office, 1 Church Street, Truro, or is available on the County website at www.colchester.ca/administration/by-laws.

Water Utility Billing Update

Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, we are unable to mail out the current water bills for Debert and Tatamagouche.

Payments are due by November 10, 2025.

Notice of Approval

TAKE  NOTICE  that the Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester, at a hearing held on October 7, 2025, approved a Development Agreement on PID# 20062352, 307 College Road, Bible Hill. The Development Agreement will permit a Multiple Unit Dwelling Development of four (4) dwellings with four (4) units/dwelling for a total of 16 units.

The development agreement may be inspected at the Community Development Office, County Court House, 1 Church Street, Truro, N.S. during regular business hours and is also posted on the Municipal website at https://www.colchester.ca/planning.

This decision may be appealed to the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board within fourteen (14) days of the date of publication of this notice.
